Chief Executive, Los Angeles Jewish Health
Surowitz became president and chief executive of the Reseda-based Los Angeles Jewish Health, formerly named the L.A. Jewish Home, in October 2020. The home serves more than 4,000 seniors a year on four campuses and through a variety of community-based programs. Previously, he was the chief executive at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. He obtained the approvals, developed the plan and initiated construction of the $650 million “Tarzana Re-imagined” campus redevelopment plan currently underway. Surowitz has received numerous awards including the 2016 Fernando Award for volunteerism and the Maps Charities Community Leadership Award. He has served on many local and statewide organizations, mostly focused on health care and senior services.
