Sassounian is a publisher, columnist and human rights activist. He publishes The California Courier, an English-language Armenian weekly newspaper based in Glendale. His editorials are reprinted in 200 publications and websites around the world. Sassounian is president of the nonprofit Armenia Artsakh Fund, which has shipped over $991 million of humanitarian aid to Armenia since 1989. He is also the president of the nonprofit Hye ID, which is organizing worldwide elections to form the Diaspora Armenian Parliament. Sassounian authored a book about the Armenian genocide and was executive producer of the award-
winning documentary: “Armenia: Bittersweet Freedom.” He is the
recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
