Tutor Perini Wins Contracts Worth Nearly $780 Million

Sylmar construction company Tutor Perini Corp. said it has won contracts for four projects with a total value of about $774 million. The projects include the Interstate 74 Steel Twin Arch Bridge Replacement Project between Iowa and Illinois, won by Tutor subsidiary Lunda Construction from the Iowa Department of Transportation. The project entails building two bridges to replace existing bridges between Bettendorf, Iowa and Moline, Ill. over the Mississippi River. The project’s value is about $323 million. The second project, worth about $292 million, is the CQ33 – Mid-Day Storage Yard as part of the East Side Access Project in New York for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Tutor will demolish and remove existing buildings, structures and the Montauk Cutoff Bridge and ramp, and then construct the Mid-Day Storage Yard. That will include building a pedestrian bridge as well as other work. In the third project, Tutor has been chosen to propose a design/build contract for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority for replacement work on the Henry Hudson Bridge in Manhattan and installing a structural health monitoring system. The final contract is for the MD 4 at Suitland Parkway Interchange Improvements Project in Maryland for the Maryland Department of Transportation and involves work on the Suitland Parkway. Shares of Tutor Perini (TPC) closed Tuesday down 5 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $30.70 on the New York Stock Exchange.
