Former Legendary Pictures chief executive Thomas Tull and his wife Alba have sold their 33-acre estate in Thousand Oaks for $35 million, setting records for a home price in the Conejo Valley and all of Ventura County. Tull, a film financier who produced the Batman “Dark Knight” trilogy, the “Hangover” franchise and “Godzilla,” sold Legendary to a Chinese company in 2016 for more than $3 billion. In 2017, the Tulls relocated to a farm outside Pittsburgh, where Tull co-owns the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tull purchased three houses at a cul-de-sac near Westlake Village Boulevard and Kanan Road in 2011 and combined them to create his 33-acre North Ranch estate with a 32,000-square-foot French chateau-style house, stadium-sized pool and guest houses. It featured a landscape that emulated the Giverny, France gardens from a Claude Monet painting. Indoor amenities included a movie theater, library and temperature-controlled wine cellar. Tull originally listed the property for $85 million in early 2018. Jordan Cohen of Re/Max Olson & Associates represented the Tulls in the deal. Bryan Bumbarger from the same firm represented the undisclosed buyer. Cohen, who told the Thousand Oaks Acorn that the escrow closed within a week, said it was the biggest sale of his career.
