High definition versions of Oscar winners “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Amadeus” see release next year following an extension of a distribution deal between producer Saul Zaentz and Warner Home Video. Through the 5-year renewal, Burbank-based Warner Home Video will distribute all films produced by Zaentz, recipient in 1996 of the Academy’s lifetime achievement award. Zaentz shows a commitment to making quality films for the ages, said Warner Home Video President Ron Sanders. “Our decade-long partnership has been tremendously rewarding, and by distributing some of his greatest films in high definition we’ll ensure the best home entertainment viewing experience for a new generation of fans,” Sanders said. “Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Amadeus” will be released for the first time in the HD DVD and Blu-Ray formats in February 2008. Zaentz also produced “The English Patient,” “The Unbearable Lightness of Being,” and “The Mosquito Coast.”
