Wal-Mart Opens Wal-Mart opened its first Los Angeles-area store in Panorama City, in a 165,000-square-foot, two-story structure formerly occupied by The Broadway. The store’s signage is in both English and Spanish, a feature the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer said is geared to the community, which has a large Latino population. About half the store’s greeting card selection is in Spanish, and many of the 300 employees are bilingual, store officials said.
