Advertising John Johnson has been appointed creative director at Ahlman & Associates in Westlake Village. He will be responsible for developing and supervising the creation of all advertising materials. He formerly was executive creative director and senior vice president at N.W. Ayer & Partners. Sharon A. Rombeau has been named advertising representative for Emmy magazine, published by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood. Rombeau formerly served as representative for the California Athletic Industry and the Cable Sweeps publications. Banking Kerry J. Turner has been appointed senior vice president and commercial loan officer at Imperial Bank. Turner will be based at the San Fernando Valley regional office. Prior to joining Imperial Bank, Turner served as vice president and relationship manager at Union Bank of California in Los Angeles. Defense Michael R. Brown has been elected chief executive officer of Litton Industries, a designer and builder of surface combat ships for the U.S. Navy and allied nations. Brown, who will be based in Woodland Hills, previously was president and chief operating officer. Entertainment Mike Corcoran has been named chief financial officer at Universal Studios Recreation Group. He will be responsible for the oversight of divisional and business unit finance, strategic planning, development of global information technology plans and mergers and acquisitions. He previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Universal Studios Florida. Also, Nestor Barrero has been appointed vice president of employment counsel at Universal Studios. He will be responsible for providing employment counsel on all employment law matters with primary focus on non-union work issues. He previously was senior counsel at Union Bank of California. In addition, Michael Gillespie has been named senior director of national sales at Universal Music & Video Distribution. He will be responsible for developing and implementing sales plans for retail and wholesale accounts for releases distributed through Universal. He previously served as senior account executive at the division. Also, Clark Duval has been appointed senior director of catalog sales and marketing at Universal Music and Video Distribution. He will be responsible for developing and implementing retail sales and marketing plans for front- and mid-line catalog product. He formerly worked in artist development and catalog marketing at Capitol Records and Columbia Records. C. Bradley Hunt was named president and chief executive of Cintel Inc., a subsidiary of Cintel International Ltd. Cintel Inc. manufactures film-scanning systems. Hunt will be responsible for the management of North American sales, service and manufacturing operations at the Valencia-based company. He formerly was vice president of technology at All Post Inc. Kevin Mayer has been named senior vice president of strategic planning for Burbank-based Walt Disney Co. He will continue to be responsible for the corporate direction of Disney’s strategy and business development for new media and technology. He formerly was a management consultant with the LEK partnership in Los Angeles. Bill Simon has been named vice president of finance at Burbank-based Dick Clark Productions. He will retain his previous position as chief accounting officer. Dick Clark Productions creates television programming and corporate events. Food Carolyn O’Keefe has joined Baskin-Robbins USA Co., with headquarters in Glendale, as vice president of marketing. She will oversee national, integrated marketing programs for the Baskin-Robbins, a subsidiary of Allied Domecq Retailing, USA. She will also direct testing and development for new products. She previously served as vice president of marketing at Disney Interactive. Heath Bruce Allen Chernof has been appointed a medical director at Health Net, based in Woodland Hills. Chernof will work on the development and implementation of Health Net’s participation in the California state program, “Healthy Families.” He is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine. James G. Malone has joined UniMed Management Co. as president of Buenaventura Medical Management Co. The company provides administrative support to the Ventura County-based Buenaventura Medical Group Inc., and Malone will manage its day-to-day operations. He formerly was chief executive officer for Tenet Physicians Services/Mission Medical Associates. In addition, Ronald D. Lossett has joined Epic Management, an affiliate of UniMed Management, as president and chief executive officer. He formerly was chief executive officer for Pacific Physician Services Inc. Michael A. Nameth has been promoted to general manager of WellPoint Pharmacy. He will be responsible for the pharmacy operation, which includes clinical programs and pharmacy network contracting, claims processing and customer services areas. He formerly was director of pharmacy services for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Sue Wyninegar has been promoted to service area director of community programs for the Providence Health System, Los Angeles service area. This includes Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills and other long-term and ancillary facilities. Wyninegar will be responsible for marketing, public and community relations, and strategic planning. Tourism Andrew Dawson has been named chief financial officer at Sunquest Holidays, a Simi Valley-based tour wholesaler. Dawson formerly was financial controller for Sunquest’s United Kingdom sister company, Airtours Holidays Ltd. In addition, Terry Lazar has been named vice president of administration and operations. He formerly was vice president of operations, reservations and information systems for Sunmakers Travel Group in Seattle. Also, Kenneth Svendsen has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing. He previously held the same position with Airtours’ Scandinavian Leisure Group in Copenhagen.
