Aerospace Greg Ward was promoted to president of Crane Aerospace Inc.’s Hydro-Aire division in Burbank. He was most recently senior vice president of operations and customer satisfaction. Architecture Angela Thompson was named senior interior designer at Ware & Malcomb Architects in Woodland Hills. She will be responsible for interior design and tenant improvement projects. Thompson previously owned Thompson Design Associates in Agoura Hills. Construction Ron Steitzer was appointed director of business development at Ray Wilson Co. in Pasadena. He will be responsible for business development in California and Nevada and new geographical markets. Steitzer was formerly with Hasama Corp. Also, David Elmore was named vice president of estimating. He was previously with the Austin Co. Entertainment Dorothy Crompton was appointed sales executive of Unapix International in Encino. She will oversee sales and renewals of the company’s programming, and documentary and non-fiction series. Crompton was previously an international sales representative for E! Entertainment Television Networks. High Tech Bruce E. Flaxman has been appointed to the new post of chief operating officer for National Technical Systems’ managed services division in Calabasas. He will be responsible for managed services operations, personnel and IT consulting. Flaxman was most recently regional vice president of Modis in Jacksonville, Fla. Hospitality Christophe Granger was named food and beverage director of Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks. He will oversee food and beverage operations, including golf and tennis facilities, special events and catering, and staff supervision. Granger was previously at the Jonathan Club. Marketing Terry Minogue was named manager of creative and production services at Aper/Alper & Lopez in Woodland Hills. He will oversee the creative services department. Minogue was previously with EMI-Capitol Music in Los Angeles. New Media Steven Bornstein was named chairman of the Disney-owned Buena Vista Internet Group in Burbank. He will oversee the formation of the Go.com Internet network. Bornstein was previously president of ABC. Gerald J. Popek has been appointed chief technology officer of CarsDirect.com in Sherman Oaks. He will develop and manage the company’s technology and information systems. Popek previously served as chief technology officer at Platinum Technology in Oak Brook, Ill. Jan Smith was promoted to executive vice president of Disney Interactive’s software development business in Burbank. She is responsible for worldwide operations of the division, including product development, marketing, finance and administration. Smith was previously vice president and group publisher of Disney Publishing for Children. Real Estate Stephen Schmidt was appointed to the new post of senior vice president of residential community development for the Newhall Land and Farming Co. in Valencia. He will assume responsibility for all new properties. Schmidt was previously with the company between 1976 and 1992.
