Entertainment Universal Studios Inc. announced five executive appointments. Nadia Bronson has been promoted to president of international marketing at Universal Pictures. Bronson will be responsible for all areas of international marketing for Universal’s theatrical products. She previously was executive vice president of international marketing. Dave Clark has been promoted to senior vice president of finance at the company’s operations group. Clark will be responsible for all financial activity for the group. He previously served as senior vice president and controller. Elayne Garofolo has been named executive vice president of marketing at the recreation group. She will oversee marketing strategies, consumer positioning and brand development for the company’s recreation properties. The other two appointments were at Universal Music & Video Distribution. Rod Linnum was promoted to vice president of sales for its associated labels unit, which include Playboy, Sonic Images and Thump Records. Also, Jamon Green has been named director of Universal’s national black-music sales unit. Green will oversee retail sales activities and programs at major national chains for each of the company’s labels. He previously served as West Coast regional sales/marketing manager at Motown Records. Jason Rice has been named to the newly created position of assistant director of marketing at Universal City-based Trident Entertainment Inc. He will be responsible for working with existing corporate sponsors and securing new sponsorships for television and home-video projects. Rice previously was manager of marketing at sports marketing firms Fitness Works and Aero Sport. Harry T. Smith has been named vice president at Ray-Art Studios in Woodland Hills. Smith will serve as general manager and oversee studio operations and administration of sound stages and other studio support facilities. He previously was senior vice president of studio operations at Universal Studios Inc. Health Care Richard Sellers has been named senior vice president of corporate branding at WellPoint Health Networks Inc. of Woodland Hills. Sellers will be responsible for establishing the company’s branding strategy and building an effective brand identity. He previously served as senior vice president of marketing and advertising at Service Merchandise Co. High-Tech Joe Norwood has been named president of Westlake Village-based Trompeter Electronics. Norwood will oversee the company’s interconnect products and capacity expansion. He previously was a sales and marketing executive at the broadband coaxial cable division of Amphenol Corp. Moty Ginsburg has been promoted to executive vice president at JMR Electronics Inc. of Chatsworth. Ginsburg will oversee the day-to-day business of the company. He previously was general manager at JMR Plastic Technology. Calabasas-based Tekelec has announced the appointments of three executives. Cecil Boyd has been promoted to vice president from general manager of the intelligent network diagnostic division. John Kennedy has been promoted to vice president from the general manager of the data network diagnostic division. Gordon Werner has been promoted to vice president from general manager of the network switching division. Larry Metz has been appointed director of sales for Simi Valley-based American Network Systems Inc. Metz will be responsible for building relationships with computer retailers, distributors, manufacturers and online services for the company’s hardware and software products. He previously served as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Emerson. Fred Rampey has been named vice president of professional services at Woodland Hills-based Vertel. Rampey will be responsible for growing the professional-services business unit. He formerly was operations manager for the OpenView Telecom division of Hewlett-Packard. Gordon L. Almquist has been named chief financial officer at Chatsworth-based ChatCom Inc. Almquist will oversee the company’s financial matters. He previously served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer at 3D Systems Corp. Michael Rogers has been appointed executive vice president of sales and marketing for Valencia-based Comar Acquisitions Inc. Rogers will direct all sales and marketing activities, oversee existing client programs and identify new areas of company growth. He previously served as director of marketing services for Williams Worldwide. Real Estate Brian Pulaski has been named senior associate in the retail division of Encino-based Capital Commercial Real Estate. Pulaski will represent retail clients throughout the region. He previously was an associate for Daum Commercial Real Estate. Security Laura J. Cerar has been promoted to president of U.S. Security Services, a unit of Encino-based Pinkerton’s Inc. In this newly created position, Cerar will oversee the direction of the company. She previously served as vice president of field operations for the Mid-Atlantic region of Pinkerton’s. Also, Larry G. Jorgenson has been named vice president at Pinkerton’s. In addition to his new duties as senior managing director of the company’s Southern California investigation offices, Jorgenson will continue to serve as vice president of entertainment and special-event security.
