Santa Clarita Economic Development Department Receives Three IEDC Awards

The City of Santa Clarita’s Economic Development Division received three awards for outstanding marketing efforts from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Sept. 18. The Economic Development Division’s Retail Compact Disc won an award in the General Purpose Promotion category for organizations serving areas with populations between 50,000 and 200,000. The disc is an interactive tool designed to reach out to business owners, investors, brokers and developers to attract new commercial businesses and showcase the city’s retail opportunities. Additionally, the Economic Development Division’s quarterly newsletters, “Successful Connections – Helping Businesses Thrive,” and the Film Office’s “Film City of Santa Clarita” were awarded honorable mentions. Both newsletters are designed to inform and retain existing businesses, while also highlighting the city’s offerings to attract new businesses to the community. The IEDC, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to helping economic developers do their jobs more effectively, gave out awards in 20 categories. It is the world’s largest membership organization serving the economic development profession.
