The San Fernando Valley Business Journal will increase its frequency to every other week and expand its Valley-based operations, beginning on March 23. The Business Journal, which has been published as a monthly since its debut in July 1996, will extend its focus on business news and features of significance to the San Fernando Valley, according to publisher Matthew A. Toledo. “We have received an excellent response to our monthly Valley paper, and with the increased frequency, it gives us a chance to provide even more coverage,” said Toledo. As part of the changes, an expanded editorial team has been assembled. The staff is made up of Shelly Garcia, a veteran journalist who has been at Adweek Magazine in a variety of management and reporting roles; Wade Daniels, a member of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s reporting staff over the past year; and Jessica Dreben, who comes to the Business Journal from Copley News Service. Garcia will be in charge of day-to-day operations. Editor Mark Lacter will continue to oversee the publication, in addition to his duties as editor of the Los Angeles Business Journal. The Business Journal also will have a new look that incorporates many of the design features from the Los Angeles Business Journal. The editorial and sales staff will be located 5850 Canoga Ave. in Woodland Hills.
