NEWSMAKERS Accounting Robert H. Bernstein has joined the San Fernando Valley office of Good Swartz Brown & Berns LLP and will head up the accounting firm’s new business management services division. Bernstein was previously a partner at White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky, Luna & Wolf in charge of the firm’s business management services division. Lisa Alison and Neal Hoffer have been named partners at the Woodland Hills-based accounting firm of Lever, Lippe, Hellie & Russell, LLP. Hoffer, previously a partner at Tanner, Mainstain, Hoffer & Peyrot, will serve in the firm’s accounting, tax and business management services division. Alison, previously with Deloitte & Touche, will serve in the firm’s audit and accounting practice division. Jeff Taubman, a tax manager with Sherman Oaks-based Krycler, Ervin, Schreiber & Walheim since 1981, has been named principal. Design Ed Kimoto has joined Woodland Hills-based Ware Malcomb, an architectural and interior design firm, and will serve as a project manager for the company’s architecture and design group. Kimoto was previously with Stewart, Romberger and Associates. Entertainment Burbank-based Craig Murray Productions has named Richard Redfield president, executive creative director for its West Los Angeles-based CMP/West. Redfield was previously the creative director at Harley’s House in Santa Monica and a producer with Aspect Ratio in Hollywood. Tammy Richards has joined Northridge-based Paradigm Shift Worldwide Event Marketing, which produces events for DVD-releases. Richards, who will serve as the company’s director of event marketing, was previously the director of sales and marketing for Entertainment Lighting Services Inc. in Los Angeles. AvatarLabs of Encino has named Susan Poer director of new business development. In her new post, Poer will seek new clients, focusing on all areas of entertainment. The company is a newly established motion graphics and editorial design studio for the entertainment industry. Alice Smith has been named head of new business development, West Coast at Stephen Arnold Music’s Agoura Hills office. Smith will be responsible for directing the company’s strategic marketing operations. Stephen Arnold, based in Dallas, is a provider of original and syndicated music to television stations and television networks in the U.S. Government Eric Brown has been appointed deputy mayor for human services by Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn. Brown will be responsible for community development, cultural affairs, aging, human relations, disability and the commissions on the status of women and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena. Brown previously served as special assistant to the mayor.
