Accounting Ernst & Young has announced the finalists for its 15th annual Entrepreneur of the Year award. The nominees include: – Ron Bension, president and CEO, Sega Gameworks, LLC, Glendale – Monty Fu, chairman and founder, Syncor International, Woodland Hills – Errol Ginsberg, president and CEO, Ixia, Calabasas – Robert J. Goodman, CEO, Box Brothers Corp., Woodland Hills – Joe Kaplan, president, and Jim Jochner, executive vice president, Innovative Merchant Solutions, Calabasas – Eric L. Smidt, president and CEO, Central Purchasing, Inc., Camarillo – Tom Veloz, president and CEO, UltraViolet Devices, Inc., Valencia. Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year will be announced June 19. Entertainment Gil Gagnon has been named vice president of post-production services for The Walt Disney Studios. Gagnon, 39, will oversee all operations and strategic direction for the studio’s post-production facility. He will supervise daily operations and also focus on the emerging technologies in post-production work. Megatrax Production Music has named Rick Linton to the newly created position of director, sales and marketing. John Dwyer and Ron Medelsohn, executive producers and co-founders, Megatrax, made the announcement. Linton will be responsible for managing Megatrax’s sales and marketing activities. Prior to joining the company, Linton was an account executive at Associated Production Music, Hollywood. Fred J. Lounsberry has been promoted to senior vice president of sales for the Universal Studios Recreation Group, announced Wyman Roberts, executive vice president-chief marketing officer of the Universal Studios Recreation Group. Lounsberry will be responsible for theme park sales activities worldwide, including Hollywood, Japan, Port Aventura in Spain and day-to-day activities for Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Finance Amgen named Richard Nanula, former chief executive officer of Broadband Sports, as executive vice president, finance, strategy and communications. Effective Aug. 1, Nanula also will be named CFO, succeeding Kate Falberg. Nanula will report to Kevin Sharer, Amgen’s chairman and CEO, and serve on the company’s executive committee. James E Whitney has been named senior vice president of the Bank of Granada Hills and manager of the bank’s SBA loan division. Whitney previously served as senior vice president and manager of the SBA division of American Pacific Bank. Food & Beverage Jeffrey D. Gargiulo has been named president and CEO of Sunkist Growers Inc. Gargiulo has been active in several state and national fruit and vegetable associations. He has served as chairman of the Produce Marketing Association and was a participant in both the GATT and NAFTA international trade negotiations. Gargiulo is replacing James H. Mast, former Sunkist board chairman, who has been serving as acting president. Human Resources Amgen named Brian McNamee as senior vice president, human resources. He will be responsible for worldwide human resources activities and will report to the CEO. He was also appointed to the company’s executive committee. McNamee was vice president of human resources at Dell Computer Corp. for its home and small business operations before joining Amgen. Real Estate William Lassetter has joined Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services as a principal broker and member of its board of directors. He will work out of the company’s Sherman Oaks office. Lassetter comes to Lee & Associates from the Hollman Lassetter Group, where, as president, he directed the firm’s services of providing corporations and investors with $450 million in debt and equity financing for the acquisition, restructuring and disposition of commercial real estate assets in California and Nevada. He also serves as a director of Morse Health & Housing, a developer of low-income and senior housing. Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services also has five new associate brokers in this office. Ron Feder, president of the office in Sherman Oaks, announced that the new associates are: Marty Bogoratt, Jason Jones, Dean Reilly, Sandy Sher and Robert Wasserman. Bogoratt, an eight-year veteran, specializes in office tenant representation. Jones specializes in the East San Fernando Valley office market. Reilly is assisting principal brokers Larry Toomey and Brett Warner in the East Valley industrial market. Sher is targeting the Central San Fernando Valley industrial market. Wasserman is assisting principal broker William Lassetter in the North Los Angeles office market. Mel Wilson has been appointed general manager of real estate operations for the RE/Max Centre Woodland Hills and Calabasas offices. He has over 23 years real estate experience and has served as president of California’s largest local real estate trade group, the Southland Regional Association of Realtors. Wilson is also a recipient of the Distinguished Realtor of the Year Award.
