Health Net of California is launching a new Health Maintenance Organization, called the “HMO Silver Network,” available to employers in eight California counties. Employers with more than 50 employees located in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, Riverside and Ventura counties can sign up for the plan with premium savings of five to 14 percent off the current statewide network. Stephen Lynch, president of Health Net California, said HMO Silver Network members can choose from over 5,400 primary care physicians, more than 7,800 specialists and over 165 hospitals. The company expects to expand the network to companies with fewer than 51 employees in the second quarter of 2005.
