A building formerly used in an auto plant in Panorama City has been turned into an environmentally-friendly furniture store. Living Spaces Furniture at The Plant uses a system to take rainfall and direct it into the ground water system; a single ply roof with 3 1/2 inches of insulation, and an energy efficient HVAC system. The $20 million showroom and warehouse was built by general contractor Oltmans Construction Co. The Panorama City location is the first in the San Fernando Valley for Living Spaces Furniture. The store is expected to employ about 300 people.
