Diodes Income Up Despite Drop in Asia Sales Semiconductor manufacturer Diodes, Inc. reported a 40 percent increase in revenues for the first quarter despite lower sales in the Asian market. The Westlake Village-based firm said Asia sales were down 7 percent as its products were in less demand for digital media players, notebook computers and LCD screens. Sales increased in North America and Europe. “Our market share remained at the record high levels achieved in the fourth quarter of 2006 across all regions during the first quarter for our discrete products,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mark King, Sr. For the quarter ending March 31, Diodes had a net income of $13 million, or $0.47 per diluted share, on revenues of $92 million. That is a 40 percent increase from the same period in 2006 when the company reported net income of $9.3 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, on revenues of $74 million. Sales of new product for the quarter amounted to 31.9 percent, compared to 23.3 percent form a year ago.
