Attorney Brent Reinke will join the law firm Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP, marking the opening of the first greater Valley office for that firm. Reinke, whose appointment as corporate partner is effective Feb. 1, will be joined by four to five attorneys. The firm plans to have about 10 attorneys based in Westlake Village by the end of the year. His practice will continue to focus on mergers and acquisitions and assisting middle market companies with other financing efforts. “They really do focus on the types of clients I currently represent as far as being middle market,” Reinke said. “There are several partners that live in the area that are well known in the community and have clients here already.” Reinke was formerly with Reed Smith and had opened that firm’s practice in the 101 Tech Corridor about four years ago. But he had been the only attorney working out of Westlake Village, and in October, Reed Smith closed that office and relocated him to its Century City quarters. Reinke, who founded the just renamed Gold Coast Business Forum, has long specialized in assisting middle market companies with M & A; and other financing efforts, and had developed a practice centered around the 101 Tech Corridor. Among his clients, he has helped OnSite Design Inc., a Moorpark-based-company that provides interior design consulting, and EZ Shipper Racks Inc. in Westlake Village and EdenTree Technologies Inc., a Camarillo-based provider of automation technologies with their financing activities. Although Musick is not known for its M & A; work, it is well established in the area of assisting middle-market businesses with a broad range of legal services including banking and finance, litigation, health care, intellectual property, real estate and labor and employment law, and Reinke said he expects the firm will fill a void for general business law expertise in the corridor. The office will be the sixth for the Los Angeles based firm.
