Warner Bros. Marks Two Milestones

Warner Bros. Studios is not only celebrating the centennial of its founding this year.

The Burbank-based entertainment company is also marking 50 years of hosting its studio tour.

In April, Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. debuted “100 Years of Warner Bros.,” an exhibit celebrating the anniversaries of its studio and tours.

The exhibit, located in the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Welcome Center in Burbank, includes animation, superheroes, iconic television shows, memorable costumes, blockbuster hits, and more, and showcases 100 years of storytelling, according to a release from the studio.

Danny Kahn, vice president and general manager of the studio tour, said that it was a joy to share the rich history of storytelling of Warner Bros. with fans from all over the world.

“Our expert tour guides truly deliver on the promise of the Warner brothers to educate, enlighten and entertain,” Kahn said.

The original Warner Bros. Tour Department was established in 1973. At the time, the department consisted of seven employees who answered the phone, operated the cash register, and performed guided tours for about 50 guests daily, the release said.
The studio tour gives guests a look behind the camera at how films and TV shows are made. From “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory” to Harry Potter and Wonder Woman, fans get to explore the 100-year-old studio as they touch, tour, and visit the sets and soundstages on the 110-acre backlot, the release added.

The tour features a welcome center, four different experiences for guests to choose from, merchandise at the WB Studio Store and Friends Boutique, as well as several interactive exhibits that take guests “behind the lens” of some of the world’s best-loved film and TV productions including “Casablanca,” “The Music Man,” “Argo,” and “The West Wing.”
