The Dow Jones ended with a 2 percent increase, staying above 16,000, while the Valley 50 fared much better with an increase of 4.2 percent. Camarillo oil and gas exploration company BNK Petroleum Inc. led as the top gainer at 31 percent after the announcement of successfully drilling the longest horizontal shale gas well in Poland. Construction firm Tutor Perini Corp. was up 24 percent following the release of fiscal 2013 earnings that beat analysts’ estimates. Agricultural biotech firm Ceres Inc. had the biggest drop at 28 percent after news of a low price on its secondary share offering.
