A subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc. has acquired a majority interest in a company that makes infrared cameras. The terms of the deal between Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC and Nova Research Inc., based in Solvang, were not disclosed. Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne has the option to purchase all shares in Nova Research after a three-year period. The investment increases Teledyne’s involvement in infrared imaging systems for commercial and tactical military operations, said its Chairman, President and CEO Robert Mehrabian. Other investments the company has made to boost its imaging portfolio include the acquisition of DALSA Corp., buying a minority share in Optical Alchemy, and the acquisition of Optimum Optical Systems Inc.
