Insurer Leaving Simi Valley for Woodland Hills

Farmers Insurance will relocate 1,200 employees from Simi Valley to Woodland Hills, a move that will give a modern work environment and space to grow, the company said. Farmers has been in Simi Valley since 1982 and has long been one of the largest employers in the city. The insurer said it would work with the building owner and city officials to find tenants to fill the space it is leaving. The move for the employees will begin early next year. They will be relocated to a building on Owensmouth Avenue that Farmers received when it bought 21st Century Insurance last year. “This move of employees from Simi Valley to our existing Woodland Hills office helps us connect the dots for the benefit of our employees, our agents and, most importantly, our customers,” Travers explained. “It makes geographic sense, it makes business sense and, most importantly, it makes sense from an employee working condition perspective and from a customer service perspective.” Mark R.
