Health Net Expands Savings-Focused Insurance Plans

Health Net of California, a subsidiary of Woodland Hills-based Health Net, Inc., is launching and expanding cost-saving network plans for employers throughout the state, the health insurer announced. The company is expanding its Silver HMO Network plan in Northern California and launching the Bronze HMO network in Southern California. The network plans are designed to provide employers with premium savings, with the Silver HMO Network offering up to 15 percent less for the same plan designs as its full statewide network. The network consists of nearly 5,000 contracted primary care physicians and specialists. “With the Bronze network, employers have the opportunity for savings that are even greater than what’s available through the Silver network,” said Steven Sell, president of Health Net, Inc.’s Western Region Health Plan. “The greater degree of affordability will help many employers stay within their budgets while providing an essential benefit for their employees.” Jessica Selva
