United Online President and Chief Financial Officer Charles Hilliard announced his resignation Wednesday from the company effective at the end of the month. Hilliard is leaving the Woodland Hills-based Internet and media services company to take a position with a privately-held Internet firm. Hilliard has been in management at the company since 1999. “With exciting prospects in Content and Media and a sound profitability strategy in its Communications segment, I believe the company is well positioned for the future,” Hilliard said. United Online Chairman and CEO Mark Goldston will assume the title of president until a replacement is named. Neil P. Edwards, the company’s senior vice president of finance, treasurer, and chief accounting officer has been appointed as interim CFO effective on June 1.
