The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority awarded a $34.5 million contract for the operation of its valet parking and self-park services at the Bob Hope Airport. The three-year contract was awarded to Central Parking Systems, the company that has operated the parking services since 2002. The contract includes an optional two years. The $34.5 million figure includes payment for the full five-year period, airport spokesman Victor Gill said. “That figure may fluctuate depending on adjustments to the level of service the authority stipulates is needed,” Gill said. The authority undertook a year-long process to find a parking services vendor, using a point-based system that evaluated such criteria as total cost, employee and management training, and security. Central Parking received the most points of the four finalist companies submitting proposals.
