Burbank Team Focuses on Development

The City of Burbank is launching an economic development campaign to better position Burbank as a major economic force in Southern California. A team comprised of city executives led by City Manager Michael Flad, will meet regularly with community stakeholders and business owners over the coming months to address areas of priority and provide a compass for the future of economic development in Burbank. With more than 50 years of combined experience in municipal government, members include Deputy City Manager Joy Forbes, Interim Community Development Director Greg Herrmann, Assistant CDD Director Ruth Davidson-Guerra, and newly named Economic Development Manager Mary Hamzoian. “I am honored to join this outstanding team as we move into an exciting period in the City’s history,” said Hamzoian. Hamzoian said there are a lot of opportunities for Burbank to lure new residents and businesses with key selling points such as its prime location and projects that include the 14-story Pointe Project in the Media District, and the 363,000 square foot Class-A office tower in the Empire Center. “Business as usual is not an option. Burbank is a distinct community which insists on flexible and creative solutions to economic development and we are excited to get to work.”
