Loop Moves Down Under

Loop Media Inc. is going to the land down under.

The Glendale-based music and short-form video distributor has been added to the portfolio of offerings from Orange Door, a music and video distributor based in New Zealand.

Terms of the deal between Loop and Orange Door, announced on June 22, were not disclosed.

Jon Niermann, the chief executive of Loop Media, said the company’s expansion into Australia and New Zealand has been on its radar for a while now.

“We’ve had a terrific relationship with Orange Door for years, and this new partnership is the beginning of the opportunity to expand our footprint further into the international market,” Niermann said in a statement.

It is the third such international deal the company has made since March.

That month, the company launched its TikTok television channel with St. Louis Bar & Grill in its 75 locations across Canada, according to a release from Loop. In April, it entered into a partnership with First Canadian GPO, a group-purchase organization that helps its members find savings on supplies and services, to make its Loop Player and Loop TV service available at no cost to First Canadian’s 7,000 small- and medium sized business customers, the company added.

Loop, which was founded in 2015 by Niermann and several business partners, brings more than 200 free music video, news, sports and entertainment channels to businesses including bars/restaurants, office buildings, gas stations, airports and hotels through its Loop TV service.
