The Community Memorial Health System announced a $100,000 gift from Mechanics Bank that will fund the purchase of an advanced C-arm — a mobile-imaging unit used to capture, store and transmit images during medical procedures.
The C-arm will be used in Community Memorial Hospital’s Gastrointestinal Lab and Ambulatory Surgery Center in Valencia. According to the Community Memorial Health System, the addition will aid with enhanced care, efficiency and the experience of patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures or same-day surgeries.
Community Memorial Health System is a not-for-profit health system with two hospitals — Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura and Ojai Valley Community Hospital in Ojai.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mechanics Bank for their generosity in funding the purchase of a new, mobile C-arm unit at Community Memorial Hospital,” said Adam Thunell, Community Memorial Health System’s senior vice president of Operations. “As patient numbers continue to rise, the versatility, speed, and ease-of-use of the new C-arm will allow us to treat more people in our community while maintaining the exceptional level of patient care Community Memorial is known for.”
Mechanics Bank is headquartered in Richmond, California, and has a branch in Westlake Village. It has six total branches in west Ventura County.
The bank has a history of similarly charitable acts made through volunteerism, affordable housing projects, financial literacy and career development.
