Ember Technologies Inc., a maker of a temperature-controlled smart mug, has signed a lease for 25,624 square feet of office space at One Westlake in Thousand Oaks.
The move will triple Ember’s headquarters space.
Ember, which has been located at 4607 Lakeview Canyon Road in Westlake Village, will move to the first floor of One Westlake, located at 1 Baxter Way. The company, led by LED technology pioneer Clay Alexander, started in the fall of 2016 with the introduction of a temperature-controlled mug that was distributed through Starbucks shops. Ember will occupy its new space early next year following a substantial investment in tenant improvements.
“Opening our new, expanded headquarters in Westlake Village is a key step in building on the momentum and rapid growth that Ember has experienced over the past several years,” Alexander said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing our team back together in this collaborative and vibrant work environment as we continue to develop and launch our technology into new verticals.” CBRE agents Hunter Brown, Jacob Bobek, and Scott Steuber represented Ember in the lease negotiations while Matt Heyn, David Solomon and Caitlin Hoffman with CBRE represented landlord Kennedy Wilson.
According to CBRE’s Brown: “Ember had some specific space needs that would help them accommodate their rapid growth but also reflect their company culture. The project at One Westlake not only meets these needs, but also incorporates quite a bit of outdoor activated space and greenery, which was important to Ember Technologies.” Ember is not the only company relocating to One Westlake. Bridge loan lender Anchor Loans last year signed on for 26,000 square feet at the office park. CBRE’s Heyn represented the landlord while Lee & Associates’ Jared Smits and Mike Tingus represented tenant Anchor, which was previously headquartered in Calabasas.
