Lassen's Natural Foods and Vitamins, the family-owned chain of 11 stores that started in Camarillo and spread across the Valley region and beyond, is gearing up to celebrate its 50th anniversary.The organic grocery store and deli locations will hold an anniversary event beginning July 19 through July 24. Best-selling products and prepared smoothies will be available on sale during the promotion.Danish immigrant Oda Lassen started the chain in Camarillo with the mission to promote better health. Lassen's, now headquartered in Ventura, has been continuously owned and operated by the Lassen family since its founding in 1971. The company is now managed by Peter Lassen, Oda’s son, and his family.All 11 stores will participate in the anniversary event, including Valley area stores located in Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Ventura and Simi Valley. Additional locations are in Los Feliz, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Echo Park and Hancock Park.
