Vie Co.’s 2,000-square-foot health and wellness facility finally held a proper grand opening after a lengthy soft opening brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.Located in Glendale near The Americana at Brand shopping mall at 611 N. Brand Blvd., the facility offers a range of rehabilitation services from cryotherapy and air pressure massages to subzero shock treatments and infrared light therapy.
Vie Co.’s services are geared toward those who are attempting to maintain an active lifestyle but open to anyone. The facility’s cryotherapy services utilize extremely low subzero temperatures to provide pain relief, reduced inflammation and weight loss. The subzero shock treatments reduce cellulite, remove fat cells and reduce appearance of wrinkles. The idea of providing a centralized hub for these services was important to owner Chris Oglakhchian.Prior to the establishment of the facility, Oglakhchian and his business partners took note of the limited access the public had to certain rehabilitation equipment. Through market research, they realized that it was typically in the hands of sports teams, training centers and high-end homeowners.“We figured, why not bring all this equipment together and make it as affordable as we can for the public?” Oglakhchian said. He and his business partners did just that, and by July 2020, they had a facility that fulfilled their vision.
Now, as the pandemic has eased up, Vie Co. is in full swing.Services can be purchased through single sessions or packs. For instance, a single session of cryotherapy costs $55, while a three pack of air pressure compression therapy costs $100. Customers can also sign up for a variety of subscription packages that start at $99.Oglakhchian said that the company has 300 to 400 rolling clients on a monthly basis and provides service to an average of 11 people a day.
The location has six employees and has yet to break even, as expenses are quite high, Oglakhchian said. Among the spa’s biggest expenses are rent, loan payments for equipment, marketing and employees.Despite the high operating expenses, the company plans to focus on marketing above all else. Oglakhchian and one of his business partners, Arman Agirian, were in multimedia marketing for eight years prior to their work with Vie Co., which has more than half of its budget in marketing.
“We know how to (market), whether it’s on TV, on radio or on social media,” Oglakhchian said. “That’s why we’re not sparing any expenses when it comes to that.”Vie Co. is eyeing two potential expansion locations in West Hollywood and North Hollywood.
