ASGN Contracts to Reconfigure Military Health Records

A division of staffing and technology consulting firm ASGN Inc. has won a contract to develop a legacy consolidation system for military health records. The Calabasas company’s ECS division will work with the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic to consolidate information from various clinical systems being replaced by the new electronic health record initiative for military personnel called MHS Genesis. The system will serve as a solution prototype for the Defense Health Agency. The company did not specify the financial value of the contract. “By safely sunsetting targeted legacy systems, this prototype is expected to save millions of dollars annually for the federal government,” Don Oswalt, ECS vice president of information systems, said in a statement. “We are proud to take an active role in pursuing this cost-effective digital transformation strategy.” ECS plans to involve clinics in the design and implementation of the system. Shares of ASGN (ASGN) closed Monday up $2.68, or 4.3 percent, to $65.64 on the New York Stock Exchange on a day when the S&P 500 rose 1.5 percent.
