Valley Presbyterian Joins Data Sharing Network

Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys is one of the first health centers to connect to CommonWell Health Alliance, a real-time data sharing service through Meditech. Westwood, Mass.-based Meditech is a global health record vendor, with Valley Presbyterian one of its clients. The CommonWell network will allow physicians at the Van Nuys hospital to safely share patient data with clinics and other organizations through a widely accessed, streamlined service. Access to the CommonWell network will help with time management and stronger clinical decision support, according to Meditech. “These data sharing services position us to better serve our community across the continuum of care,” Jeff Allport, vice president and chief information officer at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, said in a statement. “Our approach is to support health data exchange in every method we can to ultimately provide enhanced patient care.”
