Public Storage Promotes Top Lawyer

Public Storage has promoted Nathaniel Vitan to chief legal officer and corporate secretary as of April 20, the company said in a statement. Vitan has been with the Glendale-based self-storage company since June 2016, serving as vice president and chief legal counsel for litigation and operations. He succeeds Lily Hughes, who tendered her resignation to pursue a legal position at another public company, citing a need to be geographically close to her family. Public Storage will keep Hughes on through May 31 to ensure an orderly transition. “The Public Storage team is keenly focused on succession planning across the company, and we are excited to welcome Nathan to his new role,” Joe Russell, chief executive, said in a statement. “His multi-faceted experience, proven abilities and impeccable character make him well-suited for the position. The company and its shareholders will benefit from his continued leadership going forward.” Shares of Public Storage (PSA) closed Friday up 76 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $217.45 on the New York Stock Exchange.
