Missile Defense Contract Adds $46 Million to Teledyne Revenues

Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. has received a $45.7 million contract from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command to provide missile defense modeling and simulation software. The Huntsville, Ala.-based subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc., in Thousand Oaks, will begin the work immediately. The contract could extend through 2023. The contract calls for Teledyne Brown to supply its extended air defense simulation software used by commanders, trainers and analysts and model and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of current and future defense systems. Teledyne Chief Executive Robert Mehrabian said that given current and emerging threats to the country’s national security, the company was proud play a role in its defense. “For decades, Teledyne has led and supported a broad range of air and missile defense programs, including software development, hardware in the loop simulation, and test and evaluation of complex systems,” Mehrabian said in a prepared statement. Shares in Teledyne (TDY) closed Friday up $1.59, or nearly 1 percent, to $193.50 on the New York Stock Exchange.
