Entertainment industry website IMDb.com has launched its first-ever weekly news show through its site and mobile apps. The IMDb Show will be produced and filmed in Studio City, in conjunction with INE Entertainment, also based in the San Fernando Valley. New episodes will air every Thursday. Chief Executive Col Needham said the vision for the digital series is for an informative and entertaining conversation around the movies and television shows the website covers. “Our show was inspired and guided by the positive fan and industry feedback we’ve received on the original video content we’ve been creating over the past several years, including on-location reporting and celebrity interviews,” Needham said in a prepared statement. The show will be hosted by Tim Kash, who worked for MTV News, and Kerri Doherty, a television writer and creator of online celebrity interview series “Geeking Out.” Filmmaker Kevin Smith, of “Clerks” fame, will be a contributor and serve as executive producer. IMDb is owned by Amazon.com Inc.
