MannKind Corp. in Valencia reported a net loss in the second quarter of $35.3 million (-35 cents a share), compared to a loss of $30 million (-33 cents) for the same quarter a year ago. Revenue totaled $2.2 million, with another $2.6 million worth of Afrezza, the company’s inhalable insulin, shipped but not recognized as revenue during the quarter. The one analyst who covers the company expected a loss of 25 cents on revenue of $2 million, according to Thomson Financial Network. Revenue from Afrezza sales grew 60 percent compared to the first quarter of 2017, the company reported. MannKind (MNKD) announced results after the market closed.
