National automobile service chain Tire Centers is expanding to Van Nuys with a new location, according to Hudson Commercial Partners Inc. in Studio City The South Carolina-headquartered company has leased a 27,000-square-foot industrial building at 14117 Vanowen St. and moved in this month, Hudson said. Peter Steigleder, managing principal of Hudson Partners, negotiated the six-year lease deal worth $1.6 million with Kevin Cooper of Delphi Business Properties Inc. on behalf of the building owner, James Luthman. Nigel Stout and Grant Glatty of Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. represented Tire Centers, according to Hudson. Steigleder said in a statement that the tenant spent two years looking for the property. “This illustrates how the limited inventory in the Valley market makes it difficult for business owners to find the right space,” he added. In the concrete tilt-up structure, Tire Centers plans to expand the 2,000 square feet of office space to 3,500 square feet. The building also features 24-feet clear height, two ground-level doors and parking for 45 cars.
