Monster Digital Signs Dual Distribution Deals

Monster Digital announced two new agreements with distributors to get its action and virtual reality cameras on store shelves in North America. The Simi Valley consumer electronics developer made the deals with Petra Industries, in Edmond, Okla., and Curve Distribution, in Calgary, Alberta, for distribution in Canada. Both companies will distribute the action cameras, virtual reality cameras and virtual reality headsets marketed by Monster. “Virtual reality and action cameras have seen dramatic growth over the last few years and we are thrilled to be partnering with Monster Digital, one of the leaders in this space,” said Petra President Tate Morgan in a prepared statement. Petra has a portfolio representing 500 consumer brands and more than 20,000 products distributed to retail partners. Curve gets consumer electronic products into more than 5,000 retail locations throughout Canada. “Curve’s network of retail partners and focused approach to brand management makes them the perfect group to bring the Monster Digital brand to Canadian consumers” says Brian Dimick, vice president of sales for Monster Digital, in a prepared statement. Monster Digital (MSDI) shares closed Tuesday down 4 cents, or 3.5 percent, to $1.12 on the Nasdaq.
