Music technology developer Zya Inc. has partnered with the company that invented the ringback tone to power a new mobile app. RealNetworks, in Seattle, will use the Ditty platform developed by Zya, in Calabasas, for creating one-of-a-kind ringbacks with personalized lyrics in its new app, Hello. Ditty is an app that sings whatever a user types and was created by Matt Serletic, chief executive and co-founder of Zya. The Hello app will have access to Ditty’s library of top global hits. “The RealNetworks legacy in ringback tones runs deep,” Serletic said in a prepared statement. “Hello is yet another game-changer and we’re proud to partner with the company to reimagine ringback tones for both carriers and consumers alike.” Hello will debut in English for both iOS and Android devices this summer with Chinese, Japanese and Spanish releases planned for the future. The Hello app is free and users will be able to purchase premium content.
