Simi Valley Hospital on Tuesday announced it has promoted Dr. John Dingilian to full-time chief medical officer. Dingilian assumed the role in the beginning of the year but has been working as part-time chief medical officer at the hospital since 2012. Simi Valley Hospital decided to expand its top medical executive’s duties into a full-time role to have a physician present in the decision-making process. “Dr. Dingilian’s passion for clinical excellence and his understanding of our community will help us as we grow and strive to move our quality outcomes to the next level,” Chief Executive Jennifer Swenson said in a statement. For over 20 years, Dingilian has worked as a primary care physician alongside Dr. Daniel Takeda and Dr. David Yamada at their practice Simi Moorpark Family Medical Group. He will continue to work at Simi Moorpark but only for a few hours a week, he said. Dingilian worked at Northridge Hospital for a year and a half before coming to Simi Valley.
