Salem Media Group Inc. has promoted Michael Mann to the newly created position of director of sales strategy for broadcast media. Mann has served as director of sales for the Camarillo media firm’s two Chicago radio stations, AM 560 The Answer/WIND-AM and AM 1160 Hope for Your Life/WYLL-AM, for the past two years. He joined the company in 2013 as general sales manager at AM 560 The Answer. His prior experience includes media buying and account supervision roles at Cumulus Media and CBS Chicago’s WBBM Newsradio 780. “Michael has displayed a tremendous ability to grow sales by improving the strategies and tactics of his team throughout the sales process,” David Santrella, president of broadcast media for Salem, said in a prepared statement. “There has been a planned and deliberate ‘march’ since Michael joined us in Chicago, which has resulted in consistent and impressive growth.” In his new position, effective immediately, Mann will collaborate with the broadcast division’s senior and local leaders to refine Salem’s sales tools and strategies. Salem stock (SALM) fell 20 cents, or 3 percent, on Thursday to close at $6.15 on the Nasdaq.
