Cherokee Global Brands will sell its Everyday California brand footwear in its Flip Flop Shop stores, the company announced Wednesday. Everyday California and Flip Flop Shops are subsidiaries of the Sherman Oaks apparel brand company; both were acquired last year. Cherokee signed an agreement with Saliluz, a division of design and manufacturing company Cobian Footwear, to create a collection of men’s and women’s casual shoes that will bear the name Everyday California. The line will debut in the spring of 2017. Cobian has experience in the sandal and beach wear markets. “We acquired Flip Flop Shops last fall with plans to identify and pursue innovative licensing opportunities that synergize our portfolio,” said Howard Siegel, president of Cherokee Global Brands. “The Everyday California footwear collection created by Cobian will be the first of many partnerships that leverage our brand assets and relationships with respected category leaders.” Shares closed up 51 cents or 3.6 percent to $14.62 on the Nasdaq.
