Salem Media Group Inc. announced today that its Salem Radio Network and talk host Michael Medved reached an agreement to extend his current syndication contract to the end of 2018. The Camarillo radio broadcasting company owns mostly Christian radio stations, where Medved has hosted a conservative talk show for 18 years. But last December Medved announced on his website that he had throat cancer. After four months of daily radiation and weekly chemotherapy sessions, Medved was cancer free by April 2015 as reported by the Seattle Times. “I feel unbounded enthusiasm and gratitude at the prospect of three more years to connect with the most wonderful and engaged audience in talk radio, especially after my recovery from throat cancer,” Medved said in a statement. The Michael Medved Show airs from 3 to 6 p.m. on more than 300 stations nationwide. Salem shares closed down 20 cents or 3.3 percent to $5.92 on the Nasdaq.
