IPC Healthcare Inc. announced today that it has acquired Amity Health LLC in Wichita, Kan. The North Hollywood company, which provides doctors to hospitals and nursing homes, estimates the acquisition will bring about 13,000 patient visits annually. The acquisition complements IPC’s existing market presence in Wichita. “With the Amity acquisition, we will be adding several additional post-acute facilities and clinicians to IPC’s footprint in the market,” Jeffrey Taylor, president of IPC, said in a statement. In August, IPC announced it would be acquired by TeamHealth in Knoxville, Tenn. for about $1.6 billion. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year. Shares closed up 18 cents or a fraction of a percent to $80.03 on the Nasdaq.
