NorthStar Moving Company has teamed with Century Specialized Towing and Transport, a specialty Calabasas-based towing company, in a bid to offer customers a high-end car care moving service. With the new “Jay Leno” package, NorthStar said it is aiming to give clients a moving option that ensures their favorite cars are handled with care. “Many of our clients have amazing automobiles. While we take care of all of their other valuable possessions, we hand over the ones with wheels to Century Specialized,” said Laura McHolm, co-founder of NorthStar moving, in a prepared statement. “My uncle Jim was a car collector, and growing up in California with the love of cars, I know that some cars are more than simply a means of transportation. We needed a partner to be just like us, to know celebrity-level service and to deliver that to all of their clients and their cars.” For Jeff Littman, who co-owns Century with his brother Joel, the partnership is a way to attract new clients to their company. “This is a whole different aspect of how to grow our customer base,” Littman said. This is not the first pairing NorthStar has made for its line of luxury moving packages. Others include “The Paris,” which paired the company with The Loved Dog, a West L.A. Doggie Day Car service, for pampering client’s pets; “The Angelina” was a partnership with Nanny Poppinz, a child care service, to take care of client’s children during a move; and “The Britney,” brings in professional organizers to clean up a client’s new home. The new car transport service can be requested individually or combined with any of the above services to create a personalized moving experience. –Kelly Goff
