CW Struts Rating Success with ‘Top Model’

In its first night of new programming Wednesday, Burbank-based The CW was the top-ranked network in eight of the top 10 markets for women viewers and in seven of the top 10 for adult viewers, the network reported. “America’s Next Top Model” was the first new show for the new network, a joint effort of Warner Bros. Entertainment and CBS Corp. The CW replaces Warner’s The WB Network and CBS’s UPN. The first season of “Top Model” aired on the Los Angeles UPN affiliate KCOP-TV. It can now be seen on KTLA-TV, the former WB affiliate. Of all the potential female viewers between 18 and 34 in Los Angeles, 6.3 percent watched the show Wednesday night. Of those women already watching TV, 18 percent tuned into “Top Model.” “Top Model” also fared well with women and adult audiences in Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas, Atlanta and Detroit.
