Woodland Hills is about to gain a little bounce — in jobs and fun. Sky High Sports, a trampoline fun center, is ready to move into Warner Center on De Soto Avenue, bringing with it about 60 jobs, specially designed trampolines on the floors and walls, a dodge ball court and workout classes. Tara and Ron Whited, owners of a franchised-Camarillo facility, expect to open their second location in Woodland Hills in late November. The center also will feature a VIP party room, foam pit, a kids bouncing court and a second-floor viewing area overlooking the ground floor. The business plans to hold a job fair to find employees in the near future, although no date has been set, Tara Whited said. The couple closed escrow on the 34,321-square-foot industrial warehouse in August in a deal worth $5.35 million, said Patrick DuRoss, associate vice president with Colliers International, who along with his partners represented the buyers. The husband and wife-duo saw an opportunity in Woodland Hills because of the large population and nearby schools, Whited said. Birthday parties for children are big business, but the bounce isn’t restricted to kids. College students and even older adults frequently get their jump on as well, she said. “It is a fun family place that kids and parents like to go,” Whited said. “It has the exercise element to it. It’s not just sitting in a room eating pizza and playing arcade games.” Once the Woodland Hills franchise opens, there will be 13 Sky High Sports locations nationwide. The couple’s second location is scheduled to open a little over a month from the one-year anniversary of their Camarillo trampoline venue. “We are doing very well,” said Whited, who declined to disclose revenues. Swamped with preparations for the Woodland Hills opening, Whited said one fun activity is on the decline. “I haven’t been jumping as much,” she said. —Andrew Khouri
