Northrop Grumman Receives Helicopter Maintenance Contract

Testing equipment and training for U.S. Navy helicopters will be provided by the Navigation Systems division of Northrop Grumman following the awarding of a contract to the Woodland Hills-based aerospace company. After training, government technicians will use specialized test equipment to perform repairs to the cockpit avionics equipment on the MH-60 Seahawk helicopter. The repairs would be done at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest located in San Diego. Northrop worked with the Navy and Lockheed Martin, lead contractor of the helicopter, to develop the customized repair program. “Having the necessary test equipment on site will give the Navy greater flexibility in performing repairs and help minimize lifecycle support costs,” said Gorik Hossepian, vice president of navigation and positioning systems, Navigation Systems Division.
