Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley will award $89,000 to eight nonprofit organizations in the area that have made contributions to community health, particularly for underserved populations, the healthcare provider announced. “Kaiser Permanent is proud to support these organizations that exist to meet the needs of the community,” said Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley Medical Director Dr. Wadie Tadros. The organizations receiving the grants include Antelope Valley College Foundation, Antelope Valley Family YMCA, Antelope Valley Partners for Health, The Catalyst Foundation, The Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley, Mental Health America of Los Angeles, Tarzana Treatment Center, Inc. and Valley Oasis of the Antelope Valley Domestic Violence Council. The individual awards range from $5,000 to $18,000. The awards are being used to hire and sustain medical staff, and to support new and existing health education and healthcare programs.
