Book Features Cooper’s Columns

Long-time San Fernando Valley Business Journal columnist Martin Cooper has released a new book titled “North of Mulholland.” It’s a compilation of five years worth of his essays that appeared in the Journal. Available in hardcover and softcover on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Authorhouse.com, and directly from Cooper, the book covers a broad range of topics about life in the Valley. “I published the book because I realized that writing a column over five years gave me a vantage point about how quickly the Valley changes,” said Cooper, who has lived in the Valley since 1971, “and conversely how little it changes.” Cooper is donating all profits from sales of the book to the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley and New Horizons. Business Journal Editor Jason Schaff said he originally chose Cooper as a columnist to give readers a flavor of the Valley as a place to live and do business. It adds one more layer to the twice-monthly newspaper’s business coverage. “Marty’s column helps give the Valley an identity,” said Schaff. “Readers respond to him. His column has gotten more response than some of our others.” —Eric Billingsley
